Driver Dies in El Cajon Two-Car Crash on Avocado Avenue

 
EL CAJON, CA (May 3, 2021) — A driver died in a two-car accident on Avocado Avenue at Main Street Saturday morning.
 
According to the El Cajon Police, the two-vehicle accident happened around 7:29 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Volkswagen ran a red traffic light.
 
As a result, a northbound Nissan, passing through with a green traffic light, slammed into the Volkswagen. Due to the impact, the Volkswagen driver ejected from the vehicle.
 
Immediately, officers and witnesses began performing CPR on the driver until paramedics transported the victim to a hospital. Unfortunately, the driver died shortly after.
 
Following the accident, the Nissan driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. At this time, the crash requires further investigation. However, if anyone has additional information, please contact the El Cajon Police.
