Two Semi Trucks Collide on 8 Freeway in Alpine Killing One Driver

 
ALPINE, CA (February 15, 2023) – A driver was killed in a semi truck accident on 8 Freeway in Alpine Monday night on February 13.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:30 p.m. near Tavern Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a fully loaded car carrier was traveling east in the slow lane. For unknown reasons, another semi-truck slammed into the back of the vehicle before bursting into flames.
 
As a result, the driver of the second truck died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the car carrier was not injured.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
