Early Morning Car Accident on Highway 101 in Gilroy Ends in Fatality

 
GILROY, CA (March 26, 2021) – A driver was killed in a car accident on Highway 101 south of the Sargent overcrossing early Wednesday morning, March 24.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1:50 a.m. A 2007 Nissan Altima veered off the right shoulder of northbound Highway 101 down an embankment then smashed into a tree and caught fire.
 
The driver died at the scene. The CHP classified him as a John Doe.
