Semi-Truck Driver Hurt, Chickens Killed in Big Rig Accident on Jensen Avenue in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (August 29, 2022) — A driver was injured and chickens died in a semi-truck accident on Jensen Avenue at Cornelia Avenue.

According to reports, the multi-vehicle collision happened around 5:30 a.m. on Friday. For unknown reasons, a driver heading southbound pulled in front of a westbound Foster Farms big rig hauling chickens.

Subsequently, the big rig – which did not have a stop sign – crashed through a fence surrounding Pacific Gas and Electric towers and spilled chickens onto the road.

Another car became involved, as well. Shortly after, paramedics responded to the scene and evaluated the big rig driver who reported minor injuries. Neither of the other drivers suffered an injury in the accident.

Due to the accident, about a hundred chickens died in the crash. If anyone has more information, please call the CHP.
