Driver Hurt, Vehicle Hits Cow on Highway 1 in Lompoc

 
LOMPOC, CA (February 7, 2023) — A driver was injured after a car hit a cow on Highway 1 near Gaviota Saturday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver suffered a minor hand injury after striking a cow on the right-hand shoulder of the road. Soon after, another driver struck the cow but was able to move the vehicle off the road.
 
Soon after, CHP dispatchers found the black cow with injuries and informed the rancher. The driver who suffered the hand injury received care at the scene.
 
There is no other information surrounding the cow or the driver involved. Although, we will update this report once we receive more information.
