Driver Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on 15 Freeway in Mountain Pass

 
MOUNTAIN PASS, CA (October 20, 2022) — A driver died in a wrong-way accident on the 15 Freeway near Nipton Road on Tuesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle crash happened around 7:45 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Toyota Camry was heading northbound in the southbound lanes. The car subsequently struck a pickup truck head-on before damaging another vehicle.
 
Soon after, San Bernardino County Fire Personnel responded and requested a medical helicopter to airlift one of two people with injuries to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.
 
As for the wrong-way driver, the unidentified victim died at the scene despite life-saving efforts. The person’s name is unavailable.
 
The driver of the third car involved reported no injuries.
