Man Dead, 3, Including Children, Hospitalized in Big Rig Crash on McClure Road in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (July 10, 2023) — A man died after his car crashed into a big rig in an accident on McClure Road near Leckron Road.
 
According to the Modesto Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 4:17 a.m. Sunday.
 
For an unknown reason, a 34-year-old Modesto man veered from the north to the southbound lane. Subsequently, his 2014 Scion xB struck a big rig trailer parked on the side of the road.
 
Minutes later, a tow truck arrived to lift the trailer off the passenger vehicle and found the Modesto man with fatal injuries. The driver’s 29-year-old female passenger from Modesto was taken to Memorial Medical Center. In addition, paramedics airlifted a 9-year-old girl to UC Davis Medical Center and a 5-year-old girl to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera.
 
Traffic investigators do not know if alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash. Although, they are looking into the details.
