Driver Detained, Bicyclist Nearly Struck in 2-Car Crash on 17th Street in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (March 29, 2022) — A driver was arrested in a car accident on 17th Street and Julian Street on Friday.
 
According to a home surveillance video camera, a bicyclist pedaling one way ran a red traffic light while a Porsche SUV traveling in the opposite direction did the same. As a result, the Porsche SUV collided with a sedan or coupe at the intersection, sending both vehicles to the corner sidewalk.
 
During the crash, surveillance footage shows the cyclist nearly being hit by the Porsche SUV and some debris. However, the man was successful in pedaling away unharmed.
 
Following the crash, San Jose police arrested the Porsche driver. At this time, information related to any injuries sustained seems unclear. However, we will update this report once we receive additional information.
