Derek Knight Jr. Arrested in DUI Crash on 14 Freeway [Santa Clarita, CA]

Police Arrest Lancaster Man for Driving Drunk with Juvenile Passengers in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (September 20, 2023) – Derek Knight Jr. was arrested in a DUI crash in Santa Clarita late Thursday evening on September 14.
 
Around 11:15 p.m., CHP officers received reports of a person driving a Nissan sedan recklessly. The sedan was traveling in and out of lanes and speeding in upwards of 90 mph on 14 Freeway, just south of Newhall Avenue.
 
CHP officers located the suspect and conducted a traffic stop near Placerita Canyon Road. They also determined that he was driving with three juveniles in the vehicle and was under the influence of alcohol.
 
Knight, a 38-year-old Lancaster resident, was arrested for DUI and felony child endangerment. He was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station with bail set at $100,000, according to arrest records.
 
Further investigation is underway.
