Car Overturns on 80 Freeway in Auburn Badly Injuring the Driver and Passenger

 
AUBURN, CA (September 20, 2023) – Two people were seriously injured in a rollover accident on 80 Freeway in Auburn Monday afternoon on September 18.
 
The accident happened around 2:45 p.m. just west of Ophir Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 30-year-old woman was driving a gold Ford Expedition westbound when she hit the center divider.
 
The impact caused the SUV to roll over multiple times before it landed on its wheels.
 
The woman suffered major injuries and her passenger, a 39-year-old man, sustained a leg fracture. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
 
Three children, ages 2, 8 and 9 were also transported as a precaution.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
