Three-Car Accident at Willow Avenue and Nees Avenue Injures Sheriff’s Deputy, One Driver Arrested for DUI

 
CLOVIS, CA (October 18, 2022) – A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized in a DUI three-car accident at Willow Avenue and Nees Avenue in Clovis on Saturday.
 
The accident happened just after midnight on October 15. According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was stopped at the intersection’s stoplight facing Nees Avenue when two cars coming west down Nees Avenue collided at the intersection. One vehicle was pushed north, crashing head-on into the deputy’s car.
 
Responding paramedics transported the deputy to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
Police arrested one of the drivers, a 25-year-old woman, for DUI. They discovered both drivers involved had been hanging out earlier that night.
 
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
