Delores Jenkins-Rhoden Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Monroe Avenue near Sunflower Road
MURRIETA, CA (February 9, 2021) — Delores Jenkins-Rhoden was killed in a pedestrian accident on Monroe Avenue near Sunflower Road Sunday afternoon.
According to the Murrieta Police Department, the 73-year-old was hit in the No. 2 lane around 7:20 a.m. Shortly after, paramedics transported her to Wildomar’s Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment.
However, despite life-saving attempts, Jenkins-Rhoden died around 12:02 p.m. At this time, the details of her injuries have not been released.
According to investigators, the driver struck Jenkins-Rhoden outside of a marked crosswalk. Additionally, officials determined that she tried crossing the street from east to west prior to the crash.
