Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Richmond

 
RICHMOND, CA (July 12, 2023) – David Sexton was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Richmond Saturday morning on July 1.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:00 a.m. on Richmond Parkway at Goodrick Avenue. According to the Richmond Police Department, Sexton was riding his bicycle in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
After striking him, the vehicle kept going.
 
Sexton suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 60 years old from San Francisco.
 
Investigators later found the vehicle abandoned in San Pablo with damage matching the suspect vehicle as described by witnesses. They have also identified a suspect and secured an arrest warrant for felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
 
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor. Further investigation is underway.
