Homeless Man Dies after Hit by Pickup Truck on Monterey Highway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (July 25, 2021) – David Sandoval died in a pedestrian accident on Monterey Highway in San Jose late Tuesday night.
 
The accident happened around 11:24 p.m. on July 20, near Curtner Avenue. CHP officials said Sandoval was walking in the southbound lanes between crosswalks when a black Chevrolet pickup truck hit him.
 
The impact caused Sandoval multiple blunt force injuries and multiple fractures of the hip, pelvis and extremities. First responders rushed him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was a 65-year-old transient, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
 
The involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
