MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (March 4, 2024) — David Mendoza II died in a hit-and-run scooter accident on Blanco Road near Cooper Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal hit-and-run happened Friday morning. Under unclear circumstances, an unidentified driver struck 54-year-old David John Mendoza II, who was traveling westbound on Blanco Road. Subsequently, the impact knocked him off his scooter and onto the road.
 
Shortly after, medical personnel shuttled him to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office recently identified him.
