Daniel Solis Arrested, Officer Injured after DUI Crash on West Street near Main Street

 
VISALIA, CA (January 2, 2023) — Officials arrested 35-year-old Daniel Solis after a DUI accident on Saturday, December 31.
 
According to Visalia police, one of their officers moved northbound on West Street, near Main Street shortly before 6:30 p.m.
 
At the same time, another vehicle driven by Solis moved eastbound on Main Street, towards West Street. Officers said that is when Solis’ vehicle went through a red light and hit the police cruiser.
 
The involved officer and Solis both suffered minor injuries and complaints of pain. Medics treated them and released them at an area hospital.
 
Investigators said they believe Solis drove under the influence of alcohol. Authorities booked him into the Tulare County Pretrial Facility on suspicion of DUI and causing an injury traffic collision.
