69-Year-Old Cynthia Lorraine Guiten Identified as Pedestrian Killed in Coronado Accident

 
CORONADO, CA (January 1, 2024) – Authorities identified 69-year-old Cynthia Lorraine Guiten as the pedestrian killed in an accident on 5th Street.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened on December 1. For reasons still under investigation, an eastbound Chevrolet SUV hit the victim in the 1000 block of 5th Street near the Coronado Holiday Parade.
 
Emergency crews transported Guiten to a local hospital, where she later died.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities did not release the name of the driver.
 
San Diego police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
