Traffic Accident at South and Mary Avenues in Tehama County Leaves 2 People Hurt

 
TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (March 28, 2023) – Cristoval Rubio and Jonathan Rodriguez were injured in a traffic accident in Tehama County on Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Mary Avenue. According to CAL FIRE Tehama-Glenn Unit, 19-year-old Jonathan Rodriguez of Corning was driving a 1999 Chevrolet west on South Avenue. In front of him was 43-year-old Lorena Sandoval of Corning in a 2018 Jeep.
 
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Cristoval Rubio of Chico, was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi east on South Avenue.
 
The vehicles ahead of Rodriguez and Sandoval abruptly slowed, causing Sandoval to swerve to the right and Rodriguez to swerve to the left.
 
Rodriguez then crashed into Rubio and debris from crash hit Sandoval’s Jeep.
 
Rubio suffered moderate injuries from the crash, while Rodriguez had minor injuries. Sandoval was not injured.
 
An investigation into this accident is underway.
