Napa CHP Sergeant Suffers Broken Leg after Hit-and-Run on Highway 12 near Rio Vista

 
RIO VISTA, CA (March 23, 2022) – A California Highway Patrol sergeant sustained injuries following a hit-and-run collision on Highway 12 on Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on March 21 at about 7:20 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle collided with a CHP Napa office sergeant.
 
CHP immediately issued a “Be on the Lookout” alert to law enforcement agencies in the region.
 
At 8:45 p.m., a deputy spotted the suspect vehicle near North 5th Street. The deputy then detained the driver and waited for the arrival of CHP Solano officers.
 
Responding officers later determined that the driver and the vehicle were involved in the hit-and-run. CHP officers arrested the driver on suspicion of hit-and-run.
 
As per reports, the injured CHP sergeant suffered a broken leg in the crash.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
