CHP Officer Sustains Injuries in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway in West Covina

 
WEST COVINA, CA (December 19, 2022) – A CHP officer was injured in a multi-vehicle accident on 10 Freeway in West Covina Tuesday on December 13.
 
The accident happened around 1:54 p.m. along the eastbound side of the freeway at Barranca Street. According to the West Covina Fire Department, the officer was stopped on the right shoulder, seated in his patrol SUV and conducting a traffic stop.
 
A Toyota Sequoia and a Toyota Tacoma were involved in an earlier crash. As a result of that crash, the driver of the Sequoia lost control and rear ended the CHP vehicle.
 
The CHP vehicle then pushed forward, rear-ending a stopped Toyota Corolla.
 
Paramedics took the CHP officer to Pomona Valley Medical Center with moderate injuries. They also took the 55-year-old male driver of the Sequoia to Emante Health Inter-Community Hospital in Covina with minor injuries.
 
The drivers of the Tacoma and Corolla also had minor injuries.
