Carlos Ceron Identified as Pedestrian Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA (November 15, 2023) – Authorities identified 50-year-old Carlos Villanueva Ceron of Long Beach as the pedestrian killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Pacific Coast Highway early Monday evening.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident happened on November 13, at about 5:50 p.m. A speeding eastbound 2010 Nissan 350z reportedly collided with a westbound 2017 Jeep Cherokee near Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

The sedan then hit a traffic pole and a man who was sitting on a bus bench near a 7-Eleven. The impact of the collision reportedly split the sedan in half.

Emergency responders pronounced Ceron dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old driver of the Nissan and the 50-year-old driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.

Investigators believe that speed was a factor in the fatal crash. Anyone with additional information can call Collision Investigation Detective Kelsey Myers at (562) 570-7355. Those who wish to tip anonymously can call (800) 222-8477.
