LOS ANGELES, CA (November 15, 2023) – Authorities identified 28-year-old Joana Soto Diaz as the woman struck and killed by a car on Jefferson Boulevard on Sunday evening.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened on November 12 at about 8:00 p.m. As per reports, Diaz is suspected to have passed out in a roadway near the Ballona Freshwater Marsh. Then, a westbound vehicle hit Diaz near Lincoln Boulevard.
 
Emergency crews pronounced Diaz dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
