Pomona Two-Vehicle Collision on 60 Freeway near 15 Freeway
POMONA, CA (October 5, 2022 ) — A car ended up trapped under a big rig following a collision on 60 Freeway near 15 Freeway in Pomona on Wednesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place on the eastbound 60 Freeway on the boundary separating Eastvale and Ontario. The sedan and the big rig that was hauling concrete collided at about 11:55 a.m.
The impact shoved the sedan underneath the semi. However, the semi-truck continued moving on, dragging the sedan under it. This went on for another 100 feet before the semi finally stopped.
Based on reports, emergency crews found that the driver of the sedan had already extricated himself when they arrived at the scene. The said driver sustained superficial injuries and did not require transport to a medical facility. The driver of the big rig was not injured.
Meanwhile, the CHP issued a SigAlert at 12:15 p.m., closing lanes No. 3 and No. 4. The scene was cleared at about 2:00 p.m.
There were no immediate reports as to what caused the collision, but further investigation is ongoing.
