Motorcyclist Candace Ostler Dies after Run Over on 60 Freeway in Avocado Heights
AVOCADO HEIGHTS, CA (November 10, 2021) – A woman died after a car hit her when a she ejected from her motorcycle in Avocado Heights on Saturday, November 6.
Police identified the motorcyclist as 32-year-old Candace Ostler of Chino Hills.
The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on the transition from the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway to the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway. CHP officials said the 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle Ostler was riding hit a metal guardrail, ejecting her from her bike.
Ostler and the motorcycle came to rest in the number 5 northbound lane of the San Gabriel River Freeway. Soon after, she was struck by a four-door sedan while lying in the traffic lane.
The sedan driver did not stop and the CHP wants to question them.
Crews closed the third and fourth lanes of the freeway for an unknown duration while they cleared the wreckage.
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
