Brian Gimbert Dies in Snowmobile Crash on Alpine Meadows Road in Alpine Meadows Resort

 
TAHOE CITY, CA (November 21, 2023)Brian Gimbert died in a snowmobile accident on Alpine Meadows Road at the Alpine Meadows Resort.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly snowmobile accident happened Thursday. In the 2600 block of Alpine Meadows Road, 34-year-old Gimbert struck a rock partially buried under snow while traveling slowly on undeveloped property. Subsequently, he was thrown from the snowmobile, which landed on him.
 
Sometime later, a Palisades employee found Gilbert around 6:30 a.m. Paramedics attempted life-saving efforts on him before rushing him to a hospital in Truckee where he passed away.
 
According to investigators, the crash happened while Gilbert performed an overnight snowmaking operation. To facilitate the investigation, Resort officials are working with the CHP, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and OSHA.
