Branden Finley Killed in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 18, 2021) — A father-of-two died in a hit-and-run bicycle accident Saturday morning on 7th Street near South Olive Street.
 
According to detectives, the hit-and-run bicycle accident began in the 900 block of Wilshire Boulevard.
 
The perpetrator who remains at large tried carjacking a newspaper delivery truck. During this attempt, the delivery worker hopped onto the bed of the truck to stop the suspect; however, he suffered minor injuries after leaping off the moving vehicle shortly after.
 
Witnesses on 7th Street saw the white truck bearing down at a high rate of speed while weaving in and out of traffic.
 
Per surveillance footage, the truck ended up striking an innocent bicyclist from behind. The impact hurled the victim onto the hood of the vehicle, where the cyclist held on for another hundred feet near Olive Street. Subsequently, the victim tumbled off the hood of the truck, traveling at least another 150 feet.
 
However, the event continued as the suspect struck two other vehicles before exiting the car and walking away.
 
At this time, investigators need witnesses’ help in identifying the suspect involved in this hit-and-run bicycle accident that claimed the life of 46-year-old Branden Finley. According to reports, Finley died during a morning bike ride to meet his friends.
