Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train at Harris and Willow Drives

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 13, 2021) – Bilal Damissi Chaka was hit and killed by a train in north Bakersfield last month, November 23.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:40 a.m. in the area of Harris Drive and Willow Drive near Oildale. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, Chaka was struck by the train in unclear circumstances.
 
First responders rushed Chaka to Kern Medical, where he later died. He was a 57-year-old Inglewood resident, according to the coroner’s office.

The Union Pacific Railroad is investigating the accident.
