27-Year-Old Nicole Valdes-Cortez Dies after Hit by Truck on PCHP in Malibu

 
MALIBU, CA (December 14, 2021) – Nicole Valdes-Cortez was killed in a pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on Thursday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on December 9 near Busch Drive. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Valdes-Cortez was walking in the area when a truck hit her.
 
As a result, the victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 27-year-old Los Angeles resident.
 
The fatality initially shut down all highway lanes.
 
The school day for Malibu Middle School and Malibu High School delayed the start of its day until 10:30 a.m. The westbound lanes of PCH were opened about three hours afterward, but eastbound lanes remained closed until shortly before 1 p.m. while an investigation was conducted.
