Man on Bicycle Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Car on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Exposition Park

 
EXPOSITION PARK, CA (June 15, 2022) – A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in the Exposition Park area on Monday.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on June 13 near Hoover Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a car was traveling westbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it struck the bicyclist as he was crossing Hoover Street.
 
The victim, a man in his 30s, was thrown across the street and landed in the middle of the intersection. He suffered significant injuries and died at the hospital.
 
Witnesses told police the car took off after the crash. Detectives had a message for the driver early Tuesday morning.
 
Detective described the involved car as a gray-colored sedan.
 
Investigators are still trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the crash. They urged anyone with information on the case to call 877-LAPD-247.
