Man on Bicycle Dies after Struck by Car on Avenue L in Lancaster

 
LANCASTER, CA (August 16, 2023) – A bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle on Avenue L in Lancaster late Monday evening on August 14.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:50 p.m. near 42nd Street West. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 24-year-old Lancaster man was driving a 2012 Chevrolet east on Avenue L when he struck the male bicyclist, who was riding in the same direction on Avenue L.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered significant injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.
 
Authorities withheld the identity of the victim pending next of kin notification.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevrolet was unharmed and remained on scene.
 
No arrest was made at this time. Alcohol and/or drug use is not suspected to be a factor in this crash.
