At Least 5 Hurt in 2-Car Crash at American Avenue in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (May 1, 2023) — At least five people were injured in a 2-car accident at American Avenue near Clovis Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision happened around 11:00 p.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a Jeep ran a red light and crashed into a second vehicle.
 
One passenger of the Jeep was ejected and suffered major injuries. Paramedics took that patient to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
 
Three people inside the Jeep and five people in the other cars suffered minor injuries and received care at the scene.
 
Authorities have ruled out DUI as a possible factor in the crash; however, more on this crash will be available once we receive more information.
