At Least 2 Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on Pearblossom Highway in Palmdale

 
PALMDALE, CA (August 7, 2023) — At least two people died in a wrong-way accident on Pearblossom Highway near Valley Springs Road.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the deadly two-vehicle crash happened Friday around 3:30 a.m. For an unknown reason, a 41-year-old man from Long Beach crossed from the eastbound to the westbound lanes. Subsequently, his 2017 Kia Sorento struck a westbound 2023 Toyota Tacoma.
 
As a result of the crash, a 60-year-old Victorville man who was a passenger in the Kia and the 37-year-old man driving the Tacoma died in the accident. Reports did not specify if the Kia driver passed away, as well.
 
In the wake of the collision, authorities closed Pearblossom Highway between 25th Street and 37th Street until 11:00 a.m.
