Arla Gustafson Killed in Head-On Accident on Dillard Road [Wilton, CA]

Head-On Crash in Wilton Kills 79-Year-Old Woman and Injures 2 People

 
WILTON, CA (July 29, 2022) – Arla Gustafson was killed in a head-on accident in Wilton Sunday morning on July 24.
 
The accident happened on Dillard Road, according to the CHP. The 79-year-old victim was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla when she went off the right shoulder of the road. She overcorrected and went into the eastbound lane where she collided head-on with a Hyundai.
 
Both Gustafson and the driver of the Hyundai were trapped in their cars while a 12-year-old in the Hyundai was able to get out.
 
Paramedics rushed Gustafson to Kaiser South Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Hyundai and the child sustained unspecified injuries.
 
The California Highway Patrol did not rule out speed, drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
