Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Car on 8 Freeway at Taylor Street

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 30, 2021) – Arieta Idrizi was killed in a pedestrian accident on 8 Freeway in San Diego Friday, October 22.
 
The accident happened around 8:38 p.m. at the intersection with Taylor Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was walking along the freeway when a car traveling at freeway speeds struck her.
 
As a result, Idrizi suffered multiple blunt force injuries. Arriving paramedics rushed her to Scripps Mercy Hospital Trauma Center, where she died at 9:43 p.m. She was 31 years old.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
An investigation into this fatal accident is ongoing.
