Motorist Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver while Exiting His Parked Vehicle on 5 Freeway in Sun Valley

 
SUN VALLEY, CA (October 31, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run on 5 Freeway in Sun Valley Saturday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:16 a.m. on October 30, at Penrose Street. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a motorist had parked his vehicle on the right shoulder of the freeway for unknown reasons. He then exited his vehicle when a white Toyota Camry struck him.
 
After the crash, the driver of the Camry attempted to flee the scene, but was blocked by three other vehicles.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and gave aid to the pedestrian, who died at the scene.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
It is still unclear if there were arrests made. This fatal incident remains under investigation.
