UPDATE: Antonio Durano Killed, Othman Alghazali Arrested in Hit-and-Run on 3rd Street [San Francisco, CA]

Authorities Identity Antonio Durano in San Francisco Hit-and-Run

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 8, 2021) – A pedestrian who died in a hit-and-run accident Saturday afternoon in San Francisco has been identified.
 
He was 78-year-old Antonio Durano, according to the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Durano, a city’s resident, was struck by a vehicle around 1:10 p.m. on April 3 near the corner of 3rd Street and Folsom Street, according to police.
 
An off-duty San Francisco police officer who witnessed the hit-and-run collision was able to render aid to Durano. Paramedics arrived soon after and took him to hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
The driver who struck the victim fled the scene but later returned. He has been identified as 19-year-old Othman Ahmedmohamed Alghazali of San Francisco.
 
Police arrested Alghazali on suspicion of hit-and-run.
 
This case is still under investigation.
