Accident on 14 Freeway in Palmdale Kills Boy and Hurts Two Juveniles

 
PALMDALE, CA (April 8, 2021) – A 9-year-old boy was killed in a car accident on Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Palmdale late Monday evening, April 5.
 
The crash happened around 10:50 p.m. just north of Avenue N. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2008 Kia Spectra lost control and veered into the center divider. The driver tried to reenter the freeway at approximately 65 mph but the car went across all lanes of traffic and hit a dirt embankment.
 
The Spectra then overturned, ejecting the boy. First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld his name pending family notification.
 
The driver, 56-year-old Gary Foster of Los Angeles, sustained minor injuries.
 
A 28-year-old woman riding in the car suffered moderate injuries. A 1-year-old boy and a 1-month-old boy riding in the car both suffered minor injuries.
 
CHP officials did not rule out alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
