Antoinette Matthews Hit, Killed by Driver Doing Doughnuts in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (January 4, 2024) – Authorities identified 23-year-old Antoinette Matthews of Stockton as the pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle doing doughnuts near 42nd Avenue, early Monday morning.
 
According to the Oakland Police Department, the incident happened on January 1, at about 12:45 a.m. Matthews was on the sidewalk when the vehicle jumped the curb and struck her in the 4200 block of International Boulevard.
 
Emergency crews rushed Matthews to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
 
As per reports, the driver immediately left the area after the collision.
 
Oakland police continue to investigate the fatal incident. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the department’s Traffic Investigation Unit at (510) 777-8570.
