Bicyclist Suffers Serious Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Norco

 
NORCO, CA (September 29, 2023) – Alvarado Cortez was seriously injured in a bicycle hit-and-run crash in Norco Wednesday morning on September 27.
 
The crash happened around 6:00 a.m. on River Road just before Bluff Street. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Alvaro was riding his bike to the Corona train station on his way to work. As he arrived near River Road, a driver crashed into him from behind and fled the scene.
 
Alvaro was knocked unconscious and left on the side of the road.
 
Paramedics rushed him to Riverside Community Hospital with a fractured cheekbone, wrist injury and a large laceration to his head.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
 
While there are no surveillance cameras in the immediate area of the intersection, Alvaro remembers a dump truck and a motorcycle officer passing him on the River Road bridge moments before the crash.
