Two-Car Crash on Highway 180 near Abby Street Sends Four People to Hospital

 
FRESNO, CA (January 5, 2023) – Alexis Flores Valdeolivar and three other people were hospitalized after a two-car accident on Highway 180 in Fresno Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:20 p.m. on December 31, just east of Abby Street. CHP officials said Valdeolivar, a 25-year-old Fresno resident, was driving a Toyota Camry and entered the eastbound lanes of the highway from Abby Street. He moved into the far left lane when he lost control. The Camry then collided into a Fresno Police Department patrol vehicle before it crashed into the concrete center median. The patrol car also came to rest in the center median.
 
Paramedics transported two police officers to a hospital with minor to major injuries.
 
Valdeolivar and his passenger were also taken to the hospital for complaints of pain.
 
The CHP said drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
