Adolfo Gonzalez Dies in Oakland Pedestrian Accident

 
OAKLAND, CA (January 28, 2021) — Adolfo Gonzalez died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on San Leandro Street near Stone Street.
 
According to the coroner’s bureau, the hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened around 6:00 a.m. on January 18.
 
In the 10200 block of San Leandro Street, officers arrived to investigate a report involving a pedestrian. Upon arriving, police found Gonzalez lying in the street unconscious and the driver nowhere on site.
 
Shortly after police arrived, paramedics followed. From there, they transported the 55-year-old to a hospital in critical condition. However, efforts to save his life fell short when he died just days after January 18.
 
At this time, police believe the suspect struck Gonzalez as he tried to cross San Leandro Street. Police also say that the incident happened outside of a marked crosswalk and the driver fled eastbound on San Leandro Street.
