Senior on Electric Scooter Dies after Struck by SUV on Huntington Drive in Arcadia

 
ARCADIA, CA (April 11, 2022) – An 85-year-old woman died in a scooter accident on Huntington Drive in Arcadia on Thursday night.
 
The accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on April 7, just east of South 2nd Avenue. According to the Arcadia Police Department, the woman and her 86-year-old husband were riding an electric scooter west on Huntington Avenue. A 2004 Lexus SUV was also heading westbound.
 
For unknown reasons, the SUV struck the electric scooter from behind, injuring the two seniors.
 
Paramedics rushed both patients to Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, where the woman succumbed to her injuries.
 
The husband was treated with unspecified injuries and was already discharged from the hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained on scene and cooperated with police.
