Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Accident on East Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (October 25, 2021) – Police confirmed that an 84-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on East Ocean Boulevard on October 21.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Lindero Avenue around 6:25 AM.
 
Based on an initial report, the victim was standing near the Long Beach Museum of Art at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a 2021 Acura ILX strike Fikre Workneh struck him.
 
As a result, Long Beach Fire Department paramedics said the elderly pedestrian died at the scene. Officials withheld the name of the victim, pending kin notification.
 
At this point, no other details about the crash are available. In addition, an investigation by the Long Beach Police Department is ongoing.
