Man Seriously Injured in Bicycle Accident on East 5th Street [Oxnard, CA]

Bicyclist Hospitalized after Oxnard Accident on East 5th Street near Rose Avenue

 
OXNARD, CA (October 25, 2021) – A man sustained serious injuries in a bicycle accident on East 5th Street, Friday evening.
 
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident happened on October 22, at about 8:30 p.m. An unidentified tractor-trailer reportedly swerved from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes. So, a westbound 2017 BMW 330i swerved into the bicycle lane to avoid a collision.
 
There, the BMW collided with a bicyclist near Rose Avenue.
 
Emergency responders rushed the bicyclist to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of critical injuries. Updates on the victim’s current condition remain undisclosed.
 
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old BMW driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. However, investigators were not able to locate the tractor-trailer.
