83-Year-Old Driver Dies after Train Strikes Vehicle on Hamilton Parkway in Novato

 
NOVATO, CA (February 13, 2023) — An 83-year-old woman died after a train hit her car on Hamilton Parkway near Nave Drive.
 
According to Novato police, the fatal accident happened around 11:23 a.m. Friday. For some reason, an 83-year-old woman heading eastbound on Hamilton Parkway drove under the lower crossing arms before a southbound Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train struck her vehicle.
 
The unidentified driver died in the accident. Fortunately, no passengers onboard the train reported any injuries. However, the SMART train service experienced a four-hour delay during the investigation.
