Deputy Brian Haney Killed, Car Crash with Tree on Railroad Canyon Road near Canyon Hills Road

 
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (February 13, 2023) — Deputy Brian Haney died in Thursday’s car accident with a tree on Railroad Canyon Road near Canyon Hills Road.
 
According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, the single-car crash happened around 5:15 a.m. For reasons that require further investigation, off-duty Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Haney crashed his vehicle into a tree. Shortly after, fire officials responded to the 25000 block of Railroad Canyon Road and found 32-year-old Haney — who was on his way home to see his wife, Leslee, and newborn Cole — with grave injuries.
 
Haney perished in the crash as medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
