83-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized in Head-On Collision on Mission Vista Drive in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 2, 2023) — An 83-year-old woman suffered multiple injuries in a head-on accident on Mission Vista Drive and Mission Gorge Road.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the two-car collision happened around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. Under unclear circumstances, a westbound 1996 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by the 83-year-old woman, approached the intersection but collided head-on with an eastbound 2010 Honda Civic. Per reports, the eastbound Honda, driven by a 22-year-old woman, was attempting a left turn onto Mission Vista Drive when the accident occurred.
 
Soon after, police responded and found the 83-year-old woman with a fractured right ankle and sternum and a fractured left femur. Paramedics took her to a hospital for immediate care.
 
At this time, detectives have not identified where the fault lies but have ruled out alcohol as a factor. Both drivers said each had a green traffic light. However, if anyone can help the authorities with this crash, please call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
