81-Year-Old Woman Killed in Traffic Accident on Highway 17 near Blossom Hill Road [Los Gatos, CA]

Pickup Truck Crashes into Sedan on Highway 17 in Los Gatos Killing Elderly Passenger

 
SAN JOSE, CA (October 31, 2022) – An 81-year-old woman died after a traffic accident last week on Highway 17 in Los Gatos.
 
The accident happened around 11:00 p.m. on October 24, near the Blossom Hill Road exit. According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was a passenger in a 2017 Ford E450 truck that was traveling southbound on Highway 17.
 
The driver of the Ford made an unsafe turn during an attempted lane change and collided with the left rear of a 2013 Toyota Prius. The Ford then lost control and crossed all lanes to the right before colliding with multiple trees.
 
As a result of the crash, the elderly woman suffered significant injuries. She was transported to a hospital, where she died two days after.
 
The identity of the victim was withheld at this time.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
