Elderly Man Dies after Struck by Another Driver on Beach Boulevard while Pulling His Car Out of Driveway

 
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (January 22, 2023) – An 80-year-old man was killed in a two-car crash at Beach Boulevard and Knoxville Avenue in Huntington Beach on Thursday morning.
 
The crash happened around 9:00 a.m. on January 19. According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the victim was driving a Toyota Corolla and had pulled out of a private driveway on the east side of Beach Boulevard. As he continued west across Beach Boulevard, a Porsche Panamera that was heading north struck his car.
 
As a result, the elderly man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the Porsche, a 28-year-old Newport Beach man, remained on scene and spoke with officers.
 
Drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
