75-Year-Old Stephen Kiesle Detained in Deadly DUI Pedestrian Crash on Tice Creek Drive near Fairlawn Court

 
WALNUT CREEK, CA (April 21, 2022) — Stephen Kiesle faces charges in a fatal DUI pedestrian accident on Tice Creek Drive near Fairlawn Court.
 
According to the Walnut Creek Police Department, the deadly pedestrian crash happened Saturday around 9:00 p.m. For possible DUI-related reasons, 75-year-old Kiesle struck a man and a woman on the sidewalk of Tice Creek Drive.
 
Shortly after, emergency crews responded to the scene to find Kiesle’s vehicle on its side, trapping him. While a team extricated him from his vehicle, fire-paramedics performed life-saving efforts on the unidentified male pedestrian, who died later at a hospital. Meanwhile, medics treated the female pedestrian and Kiesle for their suffered minor injuries.
 
At this time, officers believe alcohol played a factor in the crash, which led them to book Kiesle, of Walnut Creek, into the Contra Costa County Jail’s Detention Facility in Martinez on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
